Noirment defence tower
After the attemped French invasion and their defeat in the battle of Jersey in 1781 a series of Jersey defence towers was built around the coast, each with 3 guns on the top and a gun crews inside, each one within site of the other, This one had to be built off shore due to the points of land as the towers either side was in a bay, It must have been a lonely and cold place during the winter, when wiold weather could prevent them being supplied or relieved for days
