About me

I live and work in Jersey, the largest of the channel Islands, and although we think of it as large it is tiny, just 45 square miles. I am nearly 60 years old, and I have been a keen photographer all of my adult life and most of my Younger life,I had a Kodak Brownie starmite at 9, and was hooked, by the time I was 12 I had my first serious camera a Russian zenit, and then having learnt darkroom helping my Uncle in his darkroom I very soon was setting up own first darkroom underneath the stairs.

For me  it has allways been Black and White, always film and always darkroom printing, although these days I have a purpose built  darkroom and more comfort.

As for equipment, for the past few years, ever since I bought an old Agfa camera at a car boot sale I use classic cameras. from a 1938 bessa 66 to a 1961 Rolleicord, folding cameras, viewfinder cameras and rangefinders, and my collection is growing all the time.

I also have a love affair with Classic Cars, and spend a lot of time during the summer at events with my Classic ford escort, and am the photographer for the Jersey Classic Vehicle Club, all in black and white, which means that not only do I get to take some great portraits of the vehicles, but I get to take my cameras to a lot of different events.

I also spend time on line with what I think is one of the best and friendliest forums for all keen analogue photographers www. film-and-darkroom-user.org.uk

All of the photographs that you see her are darkroom prints, and the original prints are scanned with no manipulation, just straight scans of the silver prints.
